what you should and shouldn’t do when you meet a cc at a convention [a very long thread]
shoutout to the homies @paigewastaken2 and @meiiwaah who helped me out with this thread.
talk to ccs like how you would normally talk to someone.
if you approach a cc don’t scream in their face. they’re right there you don’t have to yell.
don’t follow ccs back to their hotel. i know it sounds ridiculous but shit like this happens all the time. it’s weird and an invasion of privacy.
don’t track down what restaurants a cc is eating at. if you happen to be at the same restaurant as a cc don’t go up to them while they’re eating. this is probably the only break they’ve had that day.
ask for a picture don’t shove your camera in their face.
if a cc says no to a picture don’t keeping to asking them. they aren’t obligated to take a picture with you.
don’t ask weird questions that crosses their boundaries.
if you see a cc walking around don’t yell their name. you could draw unwanted attention to them.
don’t run at ccs at full speed.
don’t grab at ccs or pull them towards you. be patient wait for them to get to you.
don’t create large crowds this could get the cc kicked out or banned from the convention for creating a safety hazard.
don’t sneak into creator parties especially if you’re a minor.
this might be a cc’s first time meeting fans irl so be patient if they seem nervous.
ask for a hug or wait for them to hug you first.
don’t make weird comments about a cc’s appearance (ex. you look skinner on stream)
being shocked or nervous is completely normal but try not to freak out too much.
don’t follow cc’s backstage you will get kicked out of the convention if you do. (vidcon security don’t play)
don’t ask a cc to follow you back on social media or to call another cc they’re friends with so they can say hi to you. they’re not gonna do it.
if you bring gifts don’t give them food they’re not allowed to take it for safety reasons.
sometimes it’s better to say a quick hi instead of completely stopping a cc especially if they look busy.
don’t follow or chase cc’s around the convention center.
if you don’t get a chance to meet the cc you wanted to meet don’t be upset. ccs are usually very busy during convention weekends.
