My close friends have known this for a while, but I have decided to quit youtube for the foreseeable future. Although I still have fun making videos, I also find making them to be incredibly taxing and stressful. I also no longer find it creatively fulfilling, as I find myself
wanting to write actual stories with characters nowadays. Not only that, but I& #39;ve lived through the steady decline of Youtube as a platform, to the point where all the edgy creators I used to watch have to censor themselves so hard they can& #39;t even swear. I believe Youtube as a
platform for creative expression is dying. It& #39;s probably making more money than ever for the corporate higherups, but in terms of expression the site sucks and I hate it. Every year the creators feel more sanitized than last year& #39;s, and making a few risque jokes now means
risking termination (ala Mumkey Jones). I& #39;m not only tired of making videos, but I& #39;ve always hated the way this site is run. I am however glad my channel ended on what I believe to be a high note. My Gabriel Dropout vid is incredibly tightly scripted, and probably the second best
thing I& #39;ve ever created on that channel. Despite how negative I& #39;ve been in this thread, I couldn& #39;t be more glad I did Youtube as long as I did, and I hope my acquired writing and editing skills help me in the future. I& #39;ll probably pursue other creative endeavors from here
