When it comes to being places, growing up, we were NEVER on time. My mom would always have us late asf, and then in an already chaotic house, shit would just be even more chaotic
It’d be extremely overwhelming and angering honestly. So the whole process would just be rushed asf and overwhelming. Thinking back to any milestones (graduations, proms) I can literally remember how overwhelmed and stressed I was, on top of my anxiety. It was so bad.
When it comes to timed things, I realize I do better when I can choose my own time (appointments) vs having a time to get ready by. I get overwhelmed and stressed extremely easily, especially when I’m getting ready at home
When I do have a timeframe that isn’t too strict, I appreciate it because I get to truly enjoy my process of getting ready, which I never really had the luxury of doing growing up. I do feel bad though when I get so caught up in it that I end up lessening my time w who I’m seeing
Plus it doesn’t help that even when I think I’m ready and happy asf bc I’m on time, I come out my room and my mom makes a comment. Next thing you know I’m back in the room trying to fix things, doubting my look, now I’m cutting it close to time and I’m stressed / overwhelmed
