ICYMI: (thread) Yesterday, @adndotcom published a story about how Republican fundraisers are continuing in person, undeterred by the president& #39;s infection or state public health guidance. https://www.adn.com/politics/2020/10/04/alaska-republican-events-continue-in-person-after-trumps-covid-19-diagnosis/">https://www.adn.com/politics/... #akleg
After that story published, I got a call from a Republican lawmaker who asked me whether Alaskans are really concerned about COVID, or if Democrats are just trying to stir things up ahead of the election.
I told him that it doesn& #39;t really matter. The state of Alaska has recommended that Alaskans wear masks, avoid crowds, and keep their distance.
Here, we& #39;re seeing the state& #39;s policymakers — legislators and members of @GovDunleavy& #39;s cabinet failing to follow the state& #39;s own recommendations.
I think that& #39;s worth pointing out.
