Sage Grove is an actual abandoned hospital a couple hours outside Toronto. The cast & crew stayed in a local hotel for a week filming it. Directed by Sarah Boyd, who RULES.
Harold Jaffe Jewelers, where Frenchie cuts out Annie& #39;s chip, is a real store in Toledo, Ohio. Owned by the parents of my best friend Jamie. His Dad Jeff is in costume as the Hasidic diamond cutter in the b.g. Go to @HJaffe_Jewelers! Or Jamie& #39;s jewelry store @brilliantatl!
The brilliant script is by @anslemasylum. But the Golden Girls references came from superfan @rsonnenshine. She started it with "Hope you like Golden Girls!"
LOVE SAUSAGE! Came very late in the development of the ep. We needed one more crazy moment. As he& #39;s a fan favorite from the comics, we figured it was time for him and his penis to shine. He doesn& #39;t have penis powers in the books, btw, that& #39;s our weirdness.
P.S. My two proudest producing moments this season: the whale & Love Sausage. The meetings were the BEST. Long discussions about whether he should be circumcised or not (no), how many veins, how it cobra-strikes. I get paid to do this, you guys!
P.P.S. As this penile addition came late, @lazofficial read the first draft without it. Later, the other actors asked him how he felt about the penis-around-his-neck scene. He thought they were joking. They weren& #39;t. The guy who raps the A-Train theme is our very own composer @CLennertz. His rap skills may need some work, but he& #39;s a stone cold genius. He co-writes all our songs & writes the score. We& #39;re also friends from college!
