Having made you all super hyped about exploring church towers and stuff, I feel like I should make you all aware that church bells are genuinely super dangerous, and if you mess with bells or bell ropes without knowing what you& #39;re doing then they can and will kill you.

I& #39;m very not joking right now.

You could die.

Do not touch the bell ropes.

And even if they don& #39;t kill you, they can very seriously fuck you up. I know of at least one person who died because they had a medical emergency in a church tower and the ambulance service couldn& #39;t get them down the spiral staircase in time.

Don& #39;t mess with bells or bell ropes.

People have been pulled up with the bell rope and broken their necks, others thrown dozens of feet in the air or across rooms, some have been impaled on stuff and others catapulted out of high windows or onto church roofs.

They& #39;ll break your bones in a heartbeat if nothing else

That& #39;s just the ropes. Church bells themselves weigh literal tonnes and will kill you easily by way of blunt force trauma if you get in the way of one.

Don& #39;t mess with church bells, and don& #39;t touch the ropes.
