My concern is that if there is a second wave, the public will simply no longer comply with any new lockdown. The heady mix of summer, alcohol, and a taste of freedom means a lot of people won& #39;t care.

If the second wave comes, there will be a lot of deaths.
But the deaths won& #39;t come to those flouting any public health regulations. It& #39;ll be the most vulnerable, the elderly, patients recommended to shield.

The idea that we "coped" as a health service is a fallacy, we only barely did so by halting nearly all other non-COVID activities
I know many will disagree, but ultimately humans are selfish beings. Unless the danger threatens us at our doors, we are prone to acting selfishly. Even when it& #39;s our loved ones who& #39;ll be affected.

By the time they realise, it& #39;ll be too late.
