One of the primary goals of the Movement for Black Lives is to promote a democracy that is more representative of black communities in America. Also making sure that another innocent life isn’t taken again due to the color of their skin
- so why did it upset the public so much that the founders of blm were simply stating that black lives ARE ALSO valuable? You think it’s because they’re saying white lives don’t?
To say that Black lives matter is not to say that other lives dont it is to recognize that all lives do matter and to acknowledge the unjust behavior done to Black people by cops to say “all lives matter” back is a protest to the original protest to dismiss it
It’s to shove it under the rug it’s to invalidate it. If all lives mattered there would be no need for a movement in the first place. If all lives mattered Tamir Rice, a 12 year old boy wouldn’t have been seen as a threat just because of the color of his skin
If all lives mattered you would’ve used your voice the first time you saw this act in play. Not when you want to shut up everyone by saying “all lives matter” all lives will never matter until you finally admit that you are just as bad as the oppressors by staying silent
