Dear people of the white community,
It is never too late to see your privilege. We have to remember white privilege doesn’t mean you haven’t had hardships, it just means the color of your skin hasn’t been one of them.
I know it’s scary to see & to admit.

But we can’t truly help, truly be an ally unless we understand our part in it. We need to understand ignorance regarding race, from blatant racism to micro aggressions.
Being raised to think a certain way doesn’t count anymore after we are grown. It’s our responsibility then.

It’s a very nice sentiment but refusing to see race makes those races invisible. It undermines the collective lived experience of generations of people for 400+ years. So while it’s nice to say you don’t see color, you also don’t see the oppression & marginalization.
