I believe that monochrome can, in some cases, disconnect us from the past when we should be closer aligned to it: some of the colourisation I did for this pdf worked out ok...
Some more examples of what was once black & white (background details on page 4 of my 36.5mb pdf). I don& #39;t claim the colours are truly representative, just that the overall effect can bring us closer to Joan& #39;s history...
Whether it is Jhonn Balance or Joan Vollmer, it never fails to affect me deeply when spending creative time with fragments of deceased people& #39;s tragic lives...
There& #39;s also a few pics at the end of the book that I didn& #39;t edit: I& #39;ve just put them in there as a visual taste of Joan Vollmer& #39;s creative legacy...
I sourced some rare photos from many places for this book, but I originally did the colourisation of this famous Tangiers shot for the Billy Burroughs piece in the book: it didn& #39;t really ultimately fit in, so it& #39;s not included in the pdf...
