i hate appearing as if im saying some of the media/pr things democrats can be doing that they aren& #39;t is "easy." i dont want to be "that guy" who just says, "do this and you& #39;ll win everything."

but the truth of the matter is, the democrats just do not do a lot of basic 101 stuff.
it is certainly true that the mainstream press prefers spectacle over substance, and in the past has shown an unwillingness to feature the left offering a serious take over right-wing antics.

but its a lot easier to say the press is doing a bad job of it if the dems are trying.
if democratic members of house/senate do a press event, issue releases, send out tweets and they are ignored in favor of republicans, this is a slam-dunk case for everyone up and down the line to make.

but the reality is, democrats are tight-lipped.
they do not flood the zone. they do not respond quickly to events. they do not attach their pet causes to news events. they create a news vacuum that the gop fills, along with msm spin. it is frustrating.
so when i chide them, im not offering a magic trick. im not saying it solves all their problems. but to be a player you have to try and play the game. most of the time, they simply are not.
that doesnt mean they can& #39;t or wont win elections. but it would be nice to win *and* shape the conversation which leads to passing legislation, regulation, etc to make people& #39;s lives better. but you gotta show up.
