Because I apparently live to rank and provide commentary on eight things at a time here are my favorite Teenage Fanclub-only-the-Gerry-Love-ones ranked

1. Don’t Look Back (one of my favorite songs ever, with the pared down version on Have Lost It my favorite of favorites)
2. Sparky’s Dream (What’s the Story Morning Glory was literally everywhere (and I won’t front, I love that too) but Grand Prix is the sound of 9 months in London to me; the Fannies show with surprise guest The Pastels at the Kentish Town Forum is in my top 5 - not 8 - shows ever)
3. Speed of Light (this placement kind of surprises me, but...Oh. My. God. That chorus! Those interludes! And have I mentioned how much I love how he used to casually chew gum when he played live! (RIP live TFC Gerry!) This song makes me exclamation point happy!)
4. December (Bandwagonesque is very Norman, but this Gerry song is dreamy but fuzzy guitar enough to fit in - slightly too long spent on the outro to be in the toppermost)

5. Radio (one of those absolutely iconic TFC songs; how much must I adore GL songs that it’s this far down)
6. Near You (Howdy is the last TFC album that I figuratively wore out from just playing it over and over when it originally came out; spots are running out and I feel like I can’t choose more than one Howdy here; this probably just edges out I Need Direction)
7. Discolite (but who am I kidding, of course I’m taking another precious spot for another Grand Prix track; no shame in being the third best GL song on that album)

8. Time Stops (Gerry contemplating middle age in such a lovely way; even lovelier than late night twitter listing)
