Building off the QB index idea @benbbaldwin used for the NFL, here is a similar look at QB play for NCAA.

Many thanks to the ESPN Analytics team for their work developing these metrics for college football.

Combining Expected Points Added, Completion Percentage Over Expected, and Completed Air Yards Over Expected provides a comprehensive view of QB performance.

Here are the top draft eligible QBs. Some clear separation between the top 4 performers and the rest of the pack.
What if we compare the QB Measures Index against the predictions from the most comprehensive mock draft tracker in the business?

Let& #39;s break things down by conference. Kicking things off here with the SEC.

All stats are on a per pass basis with throwaways excluded. EPA is from passing plays only so nobody is getting boosted for their rushing ability.
Here is the Big Ten. Lots of returning talent at the top. How excited must Northwestern fans be to bring in Peyton Ramsey?

The number next to each player is their overall rank out of 162 qualifying players.
Ehlinger and Purdy are widely considered the top 2 returning QBs in the Big 12 but Charlie Brewer and Skyler Thompson (really?) are right there with them.

Again, these are passing stats only, so Jalen Hurts rushing stats do not factor in here.
Here is the PAC-12. The best returning QBs are Kedon Slovis (by a lot!), Chase Garbers from Cal, and Grant Gunnell from Arizona.

Justin Herbert was 7th in the conference and doesn& #39;t stick out particularly in any area.
I have to admit I did not watch a lot of Louisville football but I& #39;m definitely going to keep an eye out for Micale Cunningham next year. Finished 2nd overall in Pass EPA/attempt and 8th in CAYOE/attempt. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đź‘€" title="Eyes" aria-label="Emoji: Eyes">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đź‘€" title="Eyes" aria-label="Emoji: Eyes">
Rounding things out here with the American conference. #Power6

The AAC returns all 5 of their best QBs in 2020 (or whatever year football returns) and 9 of the 11 QBs from this graph.
