Not seeing a lot of reporting on the fact that, amid a financial crisis that the Mayor of LA calls "our worst ever," in his proposed budget that guts services and gives most city employees 10% less pay due to furloughs:

LAPD officers got a huge, huge pay increase. Huge.

Last year& #39;s budget for LAPD officer salaries was $1.167 billion. It& #39;s now $1.276 billion.

Last year& #39;s officer overtime budget was $165 million (a record at the time). It& #39;s now $200 million.

They cut $230 million out of services to pay for $145 million in raises for cops.
