One of my favorite parts of the online baseball community is the faction that uses their knowledge to help others. Specifically coding as an example. There’s a lot of good resources out there for those looking to expand their knowledge.
I know @RobertFrey40 posts a lot of R tutorials on YouTube. Learning R isn’t easy and takes time, but I guess there’s no better time than now for learning things that take time. High recommendation for these videos. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVHwsVfCI3-NOGW84rWNjaQ">https://www.youtube.com/channel/U...
. @smada_bb is insanely good at this stuff. He just posted some commentary on machine learning using k-nearest in R. Worth the read.

If you’re a beginner, the EdX course on Sabermetrics is a fantastic introduction into SQL, R, and just baseball analytics in general. https://www.edx.org/course/sabermetrics-101-introduction-to-baseball-analytic">https://www.edx.org/course/sa...
This crash course from @BillPetti is also great. Really extensive. http://billpetti.github.io/Crash_course_in_R/">https://billpetti.github.io/Crash_cou...
If you can afford to drop some money, I’d throw another strong recommendation at the ‘Analyzing Baseball Data with R’ textbook. Really good walkthrough beginning to end and it’s really detailed. https://www.amazon.com/Analyzing-Baseball-Data-Second-Chapman/dp/0815353510">https://www.amazon.com/Analyzing...
There’s also a blog for it! https://baseballwithr.wordpress.com/about/ ">https://baseballwithr.wordpress.com/about/&qu...
Another good resource is this Prospects Live Discord channel on the subject. https://discordapp.com/invite/Yj7CSmK ">https://discordapp.com/invite/Yj...
Good SQL article from 2009 at The Hardball Times. https://tht.fangraphs.com/databases-for-sabermetricians-part-one/">https://tht.fangraphs.com/databases...
There’s probably a lot more that I’m forgetting. Feel free to add to this thread if you have any additional recommendations. I’ll probably add more as I remember them.
