Important changes to #coronavirus testing in the military, making it more in line with latest CDC guidelines to prioritize testing for those with severe symptoms. As reported by @patriciakime: #Echobox=1586442628">https://www.military.com/daily-news/2020/04/09/new-military-policy-spells-out-who-can-be-tested-covid-19.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook #Echobox=1586442628">https://www.military.com/daily-new...
#COVIDー19 testing has been surprisingly controversial - reporters have uncovered wealthy are buying tests: https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/08/us/california-doctor-sell-coronavirus-tests/index.html">https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/0...
As the #coronavirus testing issue has become unfortunately personal, I& #39;ll share some of the complications:
I can& #39;t be tested be #tested because I& #39;m not sick enough or high risk (thank goodness, but here& #39;s what that means . . .)

As a #contractor, I don& #39;t qualify for the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act. That means I won& #39;t be paid for the days I take off, which I can manage, but what happens if the other 15 million Americans get sick or #COVID? https://www.npr.org/2018/06/07/617863204/one-in-10-workers-are-independent-contractors-labor-department-says">https://www.npr.org/2018/06/0...
When you get sick with #COVIDー19 symptoms, what happens to those you live with?
Well, I can& #39;t get tested so my partner, an essential worker, is still working. Otherwise he would have to risk no pay to #quarantine/take care of me.

This goes back to the matter of being tested for #coronavirus.
Per the Employment section of this page, you need to be "certified by a medical professional" to file a disability insurance or paid family leave claim.

Now the issue of "Fitness for Duty" certifications - some supervisors might mistakingly order these for people like my healthy partner, saying he must be tested for #COVIDー19 before returning to work. Spoiler: CDC does not permit testing healthy people.
Still on "Fitness for Duty" certification: I wonder if there& #39;s been any increase in those being issued during the pandemic. It put him in a terrible spot of trying to be tested for #coronavirus when he has no symptoms. Fortunately it worked out, but are others facing this?
