First suspension of a candidate in a seat where their party were expected to win... could get quite messy. Too late to remove him from ballot paper.

Also, does anyone know why there& #39;s such an early deadline after which they can& #39;t be removed from the ballot paper? And why the ballot paper can& #39;t at least be altered so suspended candidates no longer appear as party& #39;s official candidate?
