1/3 Right out of undergrad I worked at a children& #39;s psychiatric hospital w/ kids ages 5-10. Majority were horribly abused & neglected w/ significant trauma symptoms. These kids in crisis were experimented on w/ combinations of psychiatric drugs until their emotions were blunted

2/3 & behavioral aggression decreased. I witnessed horrible side effects & changes to their personality. They became a shell of themselves. Many kids were on a revolving door back in & out of the hospital. Kids provided labels like ADD/ODD when in fact they were clearly

3/3 traumatized. If symptoms of aggression/defiance temporarily decreased due to lethargy medications were deemed effective. The capacity for professionals to view this as health promoting was & remains frightening. Forever had an impact on my development. Will never forget.
